League FAQ
Q: Is there a cost to play in the league?
A: All Stride Esports sponsored games are free to play and have modest hardware requirements to play, so it is likely that whatever computer you are using to attend school is capable of playing most if not all offered games. Athletes are required to furnish their own gaming hardware such as a PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, etc...
Q: What is the time commitment to participate in the league?
A: Student athletes should expect to dedicate a minimum of 3 hours per week outside of normal school hours, with a mandatory 1 hr practice and 1 evening of competitive matches per week. It is highly encouraged that athletes organize and participate in additional practices on their own. Currently all league activities are scheduled to take place M-F and not during national holidays and school breaks. Voluntary activities may be scheduled during these times later in the season.
Q: What are the eligibility requirements to participate in the league?
A: All athletes must be at least 13 years old, have permission forms signed by their legal guardian, and be able to make the time commitment to fully participate in league activities. Student must also be a full time student with VAVA and players considered to be professional are not allowed in the league. The academic requirements are listed below:
A: Stride K12 is creating a school sponsored and monitored Discord group for student athletes to organize and build community that students will be able to use.
Q: I want to play a game not offered by the league, what should I do?
A: At this time we are only offering a limited selection of the games mentioned on the page above, but we are planning on expanding game offerings in future seasons as the program grows nationally and your suggestions are always appreciated.
